Experience:


  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Medical knowledge a plus
  • Medical Assistant Certification also a plus ( not required and will train)

Work Location and hours:

  • Bel Air location
  • Hours can range from 7am to 7pm
  • Travel is required

Duties:


  • Contributes to the achievement of excellence in health care to fulfill the mission of the practice.
  • Exhibits strong customer service skills in daily interaction with the public, patients, staff, and physicians in the performance of job duties.
  • Place patients in the examination room; obtain vital signs, chief complaint, medical and medication history, and any additional information needed by the physician.
  • Provides support to professional staff in the evaluation and treatment of patients.
  • Provides patient care during office visits according to policies and procedures.
  • Prepare injections as ordered by physician.
  • Cast for orthotics and ensure paperwork is adequately completed.
  • Performs satisfactory xrays and follows all Federal and State guidelines in accordance with radiation and radiation units.
  • Fill and empty whirlpools, ensuring cleanliness between patients and at the end of the day.
  • Conduct mail and foot finishes.
  • Perform wound care under the physician's direction.
  • Participates in planning and evaluation of patient care by communicating all information pertinent to the patient's status.
  • Records the planned medical procedures.
  • Assists patients in preparation for medical exams and/or procedures. Keeps patients comfortable and informed during wait time.
  • Is knowledgeable of and initiates emergency procedures.
  • Assist in patient flow in and around the clinical area.
  • Stock examination rooms with equipment, supplies, and other necessities. Ensure orderliness of the examination/treatment rooms and clinical area.
  • Provides for patient comfort, safety, and privacy.
  • Prepares and sterilizes suture packs and surgical equipment.
  • Utilize computer software programs as needed to communicate and understand patient needs.
  • Lifting and ambulating as needed to take care of, access patients, and maintain patient flow.
  • Reports all necessary information and/or unusual occurrences in accordance with the established policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the departments Performance Improvement activities.
  • Serves productively and/or participates in committees and/or staff meetings.
  • Participates in staff development and educational activities.
  • Participates in orientation programs.
  • Participates in data collection.
  • Follows all Federal and State guidelines in accordance with patient privacy (HIPPA), OSHA, etc. as applicable.
  • Understands and adheres to MVS Podiatry Associates policy and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned, such as backoffice supply ordering and shipping and receiving of orthotics.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must possess organizational skills, ability to multitask, and capability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced team environment. Education and/or Experience:

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED, certifications, related coursework in related fields. Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position. One (1) year minimum of work in healthcare preferred. Experience in podiatry or orthopedic field preferred but not required.
