Department Information

The mission of the Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science program is to prepare students for the workforce as professional laboratory scientists. Candidates for this position will work with other faculty and clinicians in providing instruction to students.

Job Summary

The visiting instructor in Medical Laboratory Science will teach 15 semester hours per semester. This is an academic year appointment. The salary is competitive and based on qualifications and experience.

This role requires good organization, excellent written and oral communication skills. The visiting instructor:

• Instructs and supports the Medical Laboratory Sciences education program.
• Manages courses and applies instructional methodologies in curriculum specific content areas.
• Supports MLS program functions including clinical practicums.

Required Qualifications

Earned masters degree by August 1, 2024

Holds ASCP or AMT certification as a medical laboratory scientist or medical technologist.

Has a minimum of 1 year teaching experience.

Willingness to engage with student success initiatives

Commitment to best practice initiatives in instruction, mentoring, and curriculum design.

Preferred Qualifications

Earned masters or doctorate degree in medical laboratory science, chemistry, biology, or related field.

Specialty certification in microbiology, immunology, hematology, chemistry, or blood banking

3 or more years teaching experience.

Proposed Salary

Commensurate with experience.
