    Description

    Mental Health Registered Respiratory Therapist Position at VA

    The Mental Health Registered Respiratory Therapist Program (RRTP) offers a 24/7 therapeutic environment with professional and peer support. Their main goal is to provide treatment and rehabilitation services to Veterans with mental health and substance abuse disorders, often accompanied by other medical and psychosocial needs like employment and housing.

    Qualifications:

    • United States Citizenship
    • Education from an approved nursing school
    • Full licensure as a practical/vocational nurse

    Grade Determinations:

    • GS-06 full performance level
    • Applicant selection grade range: GS-03 to GS-06
    • Specific criteria and eligibility determined by Human Resources

    Duties:

    • Provide care and support to Veterans with mental health needs
    • Perform patient assessments and administer medications
    • Participate in team meetings and therapeutic activities
    • Ensure a clean and organized patient care environment

    Work Schedule:

    24-hour care with rotating shifts and weekends

    Additional Pay:

    • Shift differential, weekend premium, holiday pay
    • Recruitment/Relocation incentive of up to $2,000 for eligible applicants
