Job Summary:


The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking an Agribusiness professional to fill the Agribusiness Project Supervisor position.

This position supervises an inmate workforce. Utilizes working knowledge of the Agribusiness to develop and implement various and new crop production techniques. Orders, manages and reviews receipt and use of materials and supplies for production. Inspects production areas for health, safety and security concerns. Establishes, organizes and implements training programs for the staff and inmate workforce.


Job Duties:

  • Supervises and trains staff and inmate workforce
  • Assists in scheduling staff and work crews
  • Maintains records, communicates with vendors, customers, security personnel and others to ensure compliance with policies, and any State and Federal regulations pertaining to the program
  • Assists the Correctional Industries Production (CIP) Supervisor in monitoring material usage, expenditures, and the utilization of available resources for quality assurance and efficient operation
  • Operate equipment and CDL trucks to transport product as required
  • Drives on state business
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

  • Agriculture knowledge regarding forage crops, i.e. pest control, herbicide/insecticides

  • Diagnose mechanical faults, failures and perform simple maintenance on equipment
  • Irrigate utilizing a siphon hose up to three (3) inches in diameter
  • Operate high voltage irrigation pumps, distribution valves, ponds and water delivery systems
  • Recognize plant stresses and react with corrective actions
  • Work forage equipment and produce quality product for long term storage

Selective Preference(s):

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience and/or education consisting of all area in agriculture, management and supervision, scheduling, budgeting and inventory control

Pre-Employment Requirements:


This position requires possession of, within six months of hire date, and ability to retain a current valid Arizona Class "A" or "B" Commercial Driver's License.

And a valid Department of Transportation (ADOT) Medical Examiners Certificate.

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation, drug test, and possible a medical/physical examination.


In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.
