Job Summary and Qualifications:


  • Leadership over staff, supervisors, educator/OR Liaison. Must have solid track record of management and building a successful team.
  • Hires and manages HR issues related to all positions in department. Ability to follow proper HR policies and procedures.
  • Manages productivity of the department.
  • Tracks daily stats to make sure productivity is correct
  • Oversight support of operations for instrument processing throughout facility to include: Main OR and all procedural areas w/ instrument needs and unit trays.
  • Manages cleaning, stocking, and replenishing code carts. Works closely with department leaders and house supervisors to ensure process runs smoothly.
  • Handles all instrumentation issues on a daily basis - works with engineering, biomed, and external vendors - must be able to build those relationships and work well with those other departments.
  • Process improvement of the department - streamlining efficiencies and operational workflow to make sure we are meeting the needs of all of the areas we serve. Continuous improvement and monitoring success.
  • Provides data in a timely manner to leadership about how the department is doing - maintains dashboard to track successes. To include Decontamination / sterilization cycles efficacy and equipment performance.
  • Quality assurance - follows up with staff and supervisors on issues with instrumentation quality.
  • Manages instrument budget of the department and determines needs.
  • Ensures department is meeting all requirements for TJC - following all required guidelines based on the AAMI Standards.
  • Works closely with surgical services management team on day to day operations and department needs.
  • Manages and improves instrument tracking system - works on continuous improvement and utilization of tracking system. Super-user in the department for the system. Works closely with Vendor.

What qualifications you will need:


Required:

  • Five years CSS experience with at least two years management experience.

Education:Required:


  • Certification Central Sterilization with advanced knowledge of infection control and sterilization practices. (AAMI standards)
  • Associate degree or college degree

Preferred:

  • BS in health care related field, Business Masters, Censitrac experience.
