EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in physics, mathematics, computer science, or relevant engineering fields (i.e., electrical, computer, biometrics, systems, software) with 8+ years' work experience in one of these fields, or Master's Degree with 2+ years' work experience.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

Develop novel algorithms that will modify spontaneous speech in real-time to protect an individual's privacy.

Countless electronics in modern life, like smart phones, digital assistants, televisions, remote controls, and even appliances, have microphones that are always listening for speech signals, using voice driven technologies to interact with people.

But recorded speech contains a wealth of personal, sensitive information that can be exploited by privacy threats such as biometric recognition, background profiling, and emotional screening; a person's speech can reveal not only their identity, but also static traits, such as dialect, gender, and age, as well as dynamic traits, such as fear, stress, and anger.


You will provide technical support in the execution of the lifecycle of this program in the areas of Development, Source Selection, Execution, Closeout, and Transition.

You will support the program PM as the program SME (Subject Matter Expert).
Your objectives are to assist with the coordination, monitoring, communication and integration of all technical aspects of the Program lifecycle that includes:

  • Attend meetings, workshops, conferences and testing events as a Subject Matter Expert
  • Assist with the development of presentations such as Program Management Reviews;
  • Serve as a Liaison between Performers, Test & Evaluation contributors, Government and Transition partners;
  • Review, provide analysis, and make recommendations concerning technical reports, data and Performer approaches;
  • Provide reachback support for program related requirements for systems integration, design, development, and solutions architectures;
  • Provide technical support and engineering to develop, evaluated, integrate, test, and re
- use available software (SW) to support the Program;

  • Examine data sources and literary sources for emerging technology related to the Program; and
  • Provide technical support and expertise on new concepts beyond the Program within areas of expertise as the SME;
  • Additionally, the you may provide support to the PM with their assigned Seedlings, Studies or Challenges.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 2 years' experience with R&D of speech signal processing.
  • 2 years' experience with R&D of artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) algorithms.
  • 1 year's experience managing a multidisciplinary research and development (R&D) or Test and Evaluation (T&E) team.
  • 2 years' experience creating program plans, work breakdown structures, and milestone schedules.
  • Ability to proactively manage multiple, concurrent tasks.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills. Ability to develop succinct, comprehensive, understandable documents using complex data from multiple sources.
  • Excellent slide development and PowerPoint skills. Ability to visually communicate complex ideas at a high level for technically savvy, but nonexpert audiences.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and time management skills. Must be detail oriented.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

This list is prioritized in order of importance**:

  • Master's Degree or PhD in physics, mathematics, computer science, or relevant engineering fields (i.e., electrical, computer, systems, software) 4+ years' work experience.
  • 2 years' experience with speaker recognition systems.
  • 2 years' experience with speech modification systems.
  • 2 years' experience with automatic speech recognition (speechtotext) systems.
  • 2 years' experience in the Intelligence Community (IC), including experience with requirements, CONOPS, and transition.
  • 4 years' experience managing a multidisciplinary research and development (R&D) or Test and Evaluation (T&E) team.
  • 4 years' experience with R&D of AI/ML algorithms.
  • 1 year's experience as a Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager.
