Description

The Youth Intervention and Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the day to day operation of the youth intervention and engagement program.

This Specialist is also responsible for providing hands on individual assistance to adolescents and transitional age youth as needed for purposes of securing employment.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree required in human service field
    OR Bachelor's Degree with minimum of 3 years experience in human services field
  • Experience working with transitional age youth
  • Excellent communication/listening skills
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Demonstrates respect for children/youth experiencing serious emotional and behavioral problems
  • Demonstrates ability to design, deliver and ensure highly individualized, strengthbased, familyfocused services and supports
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Understanding of cultural diversity
  • Ability to observe and accurately report the functioning of children and families
  • Good writing skills and ability to meet deadlines

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the client in identifying their strengths and needs
  • Provide hands on individual assistance to youth as needed for purposes of obtaining employment
  • Hold trainings on fundamental skills and trends that come up when seeking employment
  • Refer individuals for additional resources as needed
  • Collaborate with other agencies to meet the needs of the individuals you are serving
  • Document, accurately, all services being provided
  • Engage in preventative outreach to help reduce the amount of disconnected youth in the Charles County community
  • Market the program through community outreach opportunities in order to increase the amount of individuals being served
  • Represent the program to outside agencies, including the local behavioral health authority
  • Assume responsibility for the day to day operations of the Youth Intervention and Engagement Program
  • Provide at least one hour of reflective supervision per week per staff member
  • Compile statistics and requisite information for the preparation of quarterly reports to governing agencies and submitting this data to Coordinator of Community Support Programs
  • Responsible for implementation of designated curriculum for youth as approved by funder
  • Monitor client and program outcomes
  • Participate and attend agency functions. Responsible for ensuring company policies and procedures are followed at all times by supervisees
  • Ensure that employees complete timesheets biweekly
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Program Coordinator or Executive Director

NOTE:
Two workdays per week are during evening hours.


Pay:
$45, $50,000.00 per year
