Job Overview:

The Polysomnograph Technician performs sleep studies for pediatric 18 months and older, adult, and geriatric patients.

Qualifications:

Required:_
HS Diploma or equivalent

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
Current New Jersey state Polysomnography license
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

Scheduling Requirements:

Essential Functions:

Demonstrates proper placement of leads and wires 1020 setup
Maintains, operates, and troubleshoots all sleep equipment, as well as pulse oximetry, transcutaneous monitoring, endtidal CO2 monitoring, and CPAP/BIPAP devices during the acquisition of the sleep study
Titrates CPAP/BIPAP according to AASM guidelines
Documents technician notes every half hour
Scores sleep study according to AASM guidelines
Responds to patient requests for information
Completes all charges
Coordinates dictation, transcription, final report, archiving, filing, and mailing process for sleep studies
Maintains inventory control
Completes yearly CME requirements
Participates in Performance Improvement
Achieves Interscoring reliability greater than 85 percent
