THE POSITION:


This opportunity is for a part-time Social Worker to provide services in an Outpatient Program and an Enhanced Outpatient Program (EOP) to individuals of all ages.

Obtain client information, establish a written goal-specific treatment plan, provide clinical treatment and counseling services, and serve as a resource.

Collaborate on mental health cases and consult with colleagues, community individuals, or agencies on cases to assist in providing the highest quality of services.

May also provide services in the School Consultation Program which includes working on site in schools to assess student needs, provide consultation and education to school personnel, provide clinical treatment and counseling, provide crisis intervention, and make referrals as needed.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


  • This is a professional social work position in the Somerset Clinical Services Unit (CSU) which includes the EOP and School Consultation Program.
  • Obtain information from the consumer, members of their families, and others as applicable including demographics, history, and family functioning. Responsible for establishing a written goalspecific treatment plan with the consumer within the first two appointments and update the treatment plan for consistency with state regulations. Under the guidance of the supervisor, provide counseling to people of all ages utilizing diversified professional techniques. Provide individual, group, marital, family, and play therapy according to training. Provide professional mental health consultation to other program areas and community individuals or agencies on assigned cases. This position participates in treatment team meetings and documents services provided with written reports and uptodate clinical notes towards accomplishing social service goals in the chart. Provides clinical treatment and therapy based on diagnoses and various psychological tests and assessments deemed necessary through counseling. Under the guidance of the supervisor, serve as a therapist for the EOP.
  • Assist the Administrative Case Managers and Blended Case Management (BCM) staff in assuring the highest quality of services to all consumers. Assist the crisis staff in providing crisis intervention and arranging voluntary hospitalizations, when necessary, for assigned cases to aid in making as smooth a transition as possible from community to inpatient treatment. Attend monthly supervisory meetings and participate in staff development and inservice trainings as related to this position, whenever the schedule permits. Assist in presentations and trainings to other agencies, community organizations, or other interested parties regarding DBHS services.
  • May provide services in the School Consultation Program which includes providing consultation and education to school personnel, other program areas, community individuals, and agencies relating to mental health issues, specialized psychological techniques, and available resources to children and families. Complete onsite school mental health assessments for students identified by the Student Assistance Program as having emotional difficulties. Assess student needs and complete appropriate referrals. Provide clinical treatment and counseling based on diagnoses and various psychological tests and assessments deemed necessary through counseling. Provide crisis intervention as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Parttime employment, 24 hours/week, Monday
  • Friday.
  • Hours must be adjusted as needed based upon consumer needs or requests for evening appointments.
  • On occasion, staff may need to work hours outside of the set work week to complete projects, meet work demands, or in the event of an emergency.
  • This position reports to the DBHS Office for work. Upon hire, new staff begin training and are on probation for 6 months. New staff may be eligible for a hybrid of onsite and remote work after 3months of employment.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • Graduation from an approved graduate school with a master's degree in social work.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
