THE POSITION:


Are you looking for an advanced clerical career specializing in legal administration? The Unemployment Compensation Board of Review (UCBR) Division is seeking a highly motivated, organized Legal Assistant 1 capable of functioning in a fast-paced, challenging legal environment.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

As a Legal Assistant 1 you will be focusing on administrative and legal clerical support for the UCBR Division.

Work includes general clerical duties such as typing, formatting, and proofreading of briefs, motions, decisions, correspondence and memoranda prepared by division attorneys and support staff.

You will be responsible for compiling, organizing and preparing court records for certification, recording data, as well as updating and maintaining logs and case files.

This position gives you the opportunity to perform other clerical support duties, such as handling mail, answering the telephone, scanning files, faxing, using a copy machine, maintaining a calendar, and managing office equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Fulltime employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday
  • Friday, with 60minute lunch.

Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Salary:_ _**Applicants new to the Commonwealth will start at the starting salary rate of $39,003.00.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • Three years of responsible clerical, enforcement or investigative work;
    or:
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
