Job Summary:
The primary function of this position is to facilitate compliance with OSHA and customer guidelines to promote and ensure effective safety operations at the division and/or job level.
Example of Duties
- Collaborates with operations managers to conduct risk assessments and maintain and implement safety policies, programs, and procedures on the jobsite.
- Builds relationships with employees to maintain a strong culture of safety and provides onsite job coaching and development.
- Ensures on the job compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, rules, and customer guidelines regarding safety.
- Provides technical support to employees regarding safety programs and policies.
- Stops operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.
- Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
- Organizes employee training on applicable safety and security standards.
- Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
- Conducts and reviews accident and incident reports, root cause analyses and near miss investigations.
- Maintains applicable safety records and documentation.
- May be assigned to work on special projects as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Perform technical administrative and analytical work related to occupational safety.
- Travel as required to conduct safety inspections.
- Plan, coordinate, and organize work to successfully meet deadlines.
- Make mathematical and statistical computations.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records.
- Work independently and as a team.
- Exercise tact and deal effectively with others.
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Experience/Education:
- At least two years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment required, preferably in the construction industry.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. is required. Completion of college course work or specialized training in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or a closely related field is desirable.
Licenses/Certifications:
Possession of a valid California driver's license, Class C, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier.
