SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Director, the Patient Care Supervisor assists with directing, coordinating and managing daily functions of clinic operations.

The Patient Care Supervisor assist medical care staff in reaching their full potential at each stage of their professional development with a focus on developing and enhancing clinical knowledge, technical skills, clinical decision-making skills, professional performance standards and inter-personal skills that medical care staff use to provide quality services.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Coordinates office functions to ensure smooth flowing clinic operations

Understands the scope of the practice site and has a working knowledge of all aspects of the clinical back and front office

Directs and schedules staff according to the needs of the clinic

Demonstrates the ability to identify learning needs of staff, and develops and implements in-service education as needed

Evaluates and provides feedback on job performance, attendance, and quality and quantity of work for assigned staff

Conducts annual performance reviews and disciplinary actions

Assist with developing, reviewing, and maintaining policies, procedures & protocols

Assist with hiring, onboarding, directing, mentoring and developing staff-including communicating job expectations

Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff to ensure quality patient care standards are met

Identifies and resolves work problems, monitors patient satisfaction and responds to employee and customer complaints in a timely manner

Assist with developing and interpreting infection-control policies and protocols, and enforcing medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations

Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing

Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by monitoring preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions and requesting repairs

Maintains medical supplies inventory and anticipates needed supplies

Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information, responding to requests, and participating in team problem-solving methods

Attends required meetings, participates in committees as required and manages assigned projects

Assist with payroll

Understands the principles of Patient centered Medical Home.

All other duties assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises 25-30 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws.

Has primary oversight of all MFC clinical MA's and Care Management staff.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing from an approved school of nursing. Current active Michigan RN license. Current BLS certification (or BLS completion within 60 days of hire). Minimum of 5 years demonstrated working experience in an ambulatory care setting as a registered nurse. Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience (charge nurse, supervisor, team lead). Strong interpersonal and organization skills along with the ability to be detail oriented. Computer skills required. Maintain professional knowledge though continuing education.
