    Overview

    A San Diego-based architectural studio is currently looking for a Construction Administrator with a minimum of 10 years of experience to join its collaborative team environment. This full-time role will play a vital part in implementing construction documents for multiple projects, emphasizing detail-oriented individuals with experience in complex multi-family or mixed-use projects.

    Over the past 30 years, this twenty-nine-person studio has won many awards for its diverse portfolio including affordable housing, mixed-use infill development, historic reuse, charter schools, university, civic, and urban planning projects. They have designed one of the Nation's Top 10 Environmental Buildings, Winner of the Global Award of Excellence, and recipient of 5 National AIA Awards The work of the firm is noted for its understanding of place, its authenticity, and its inventive optimism.     Construction Administrator Responsibilities:

    • Development and coordination of construction documents, including project detailing and basis of design
    • Leading a project team and coordinating the work of consultants
    • Organizing client and team meetings
    • Establishing project schedules, deliverables, and milestones
    • Coordinating and assigning tasks, goals, and deliverables within the team
    • Leading coordination and quality assurance reviews
    • Collaborating on design and design presentations
    • Coordinating construction administration efforts
    • Overseeing the Revit model within the office and with project consultants
    • Overseeing the permitting and plan check process with various jurisdictions

    Applicants must have the following qualifications:

    • Professional Degree in Architecture from an accredited architecture program
    • Minimum of 10 years' experience in construction administration and/or architectural field
    • Licensed Architect a plus
    • First-hand experience producing drawings and details as needed for implementation during the construction phase
    • Proficiency and experience using Revit to produce design and construction documents
    • Thorough understanding of the construction process, techniques, materials, and standards
    • Advanced knowledge of state and local building and zoning codes including accessibility
    • Experience on-site during construction working directly with owner's representative and construction team
    • Experience participating in construction meetings and facilitating communication between all members of the design and construction team
    • Ability to maintain electronically all project documentation during the construction phase
    • Sensitivity to design and aesthetics
    • Ability to research and troubleshoot technical and code issues
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
    • Ability to self-start and stay on task with excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Revit, AutoCAD, Procore (or similar) and Bluebeam
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Willingness to pitch in and assist in a team-oriented atmosphere wherever needed
