Summary:


Responsibilities:


  • Manage and process all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial reports for school administration and town treasurer.
  • Maintain vendor information, including, but not limited to, keeping current vendor details updated and any relevant contracts or agreements, onboarding new vendors, ensuring all necessary documentation and agreements are in place, processing purchase orders, verifying and reconciling invoices received, and coordinating the payment process for approved invoices.
  • Ensure employee benefit deductions, such as health insurance premiums, retirement contributions, and flexible spending account contributions (if applicable), are accurately calculated and deducted from employees' paychecks.
  • Responsible for processing monthly and quarterly Teachers' Retirement transmittals and subsidy payments, filing quarterly and annual payroll tax reports, including Form W2 for each employee and Form W
  • Manage various employee benefits such as insurance, Section 125 plans, retirement plans, and paid time off and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ensure payroll practices and financial policies align with the terms of existing bargaining agreements and employment agreements.
  • Communicate information about benefits programs to employees, including plan options, enrollment periods, changes in benefits, and resources for accessing benefitsrelated information.
  • Assist in budget preparation and presentation and monitor expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Utilize the district's online software to manage and store employee payroll documents.
  • Attend professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role and attend district board clerk meetings to network with peers from other schools.

Qualifications:


  • A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is optional.
  • Previous experience in accounting and payroll.
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.

Work Schedule:


  • This is a yearround, nonunion position with flexible hours (within the school day) during the school year and fewer hours in the summer.
  • Includes 12 monthly evening meetings

Salary & Benefits:

- $30-35 per hour, dependent on experience

  • Insurance and paid time off

Physical Requirements:


  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
