Department/Responsibilities:


The University Center for Orthopedics, Trauma Surgery and Plastic Surgery (OUPC) at the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital Dresden covers the entire spectrum of orthopedics, trauma surgery and plastic surgery in patient care, research and teaching.

An innovative structural model has been created, in which a "Regional Trauma Center" and a "Maximal Care Endoprosthesis Center" are interconnected through subspecialized sections.

In these sections (spine, upper extremity, pelvis/hip, knee, foot/ankle), patients with musculoskeletal diseases and injuries are treated together.

In addition, the Department of Plastic Hand and Aesthetic Surgery has been established at the OUPC, which complements existing areas of expertise such as acute care (with surgical emergency department and intensive care unit), pediatric orthopedics, rheumatology, tumor orthopedics, and sports medicine (with support for the Olympic training center).


As of March 1, 2023, a position as Documentation Assistant in full-time employment is available on an indefinite basis.

  • You are responsible for coding the inpatient cases of our clinic and verifying diagnoses and procedures for billing.
  • You independently process requests for case review by the Medical Service of the Health Insurance (MDK) in collaboration with the Department of Medical Controlling.
  • You analyze data for case conferences and clinical studies.
  • You independently review and approve data from the clinic's
