Amplify Publishing Group (APG) is a leader in the hybrid publishing space with more than twenty years of experience acquiring, producing, marketing, and distributing books.

Passionate about ideas and voices that need to be heard, APG is known for launching nonfiction books that start engaging and timely conversations.


In addition to writing pitches, the retail account specialist interfaces with booksellers, including Barnes & Noble and Amazon, and monitors listings with our distributors.

The focus of this job is two-fold: actively chasing retail placements for our wide variety of titles while managing all phases of the distribution and fulfillment process.


Responsibilities:


  • Work directly with authors, retailers, fulfillment centers, and account managers regarding retail, distribution, and book orders
  • Upload title information to all distribution platforms and implement updates as need
  • Perform publishing administrative tasks, including monitoring book listings, writing pitches, and assisting with book event preparation
  • Develop and execute literary marketing campaigns to increase visibility of backlist and frontlist titles
  • Research placement opportunities on behalf of titles of all genres

Requirements:


  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent time management
  • Creative idea generation and problemsolving abilities
  • Ability to manage diverse tasks and responsibilities
  • Ability to learn quickly and work both independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Microsoft Office Suite, and online cloud tools (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.)
  • 12 years of customer service, administrative, and/or bookrelated retail experience preferred
  • 12 years of data entry experience preferred
  • Undergraduate degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or related field preferred
This position can be performed remotely or in-person at Amplify Publishing's office in Herndon, Virginia.
