The General Foreman supervises a crew of carpenters, laborers, etc. Responsible for coordinating and training. Consulting with clients and contractors, assigns tasks, making sure jobs are done on time, and monitoring performance.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees and manages trades (i.e. Carpenters, Laborers); Coordinates safety inspections
  • Responsible for ensuring that individuals who work under him/her, carry out their tasks and duties diligently and effectively for successful completion.
  • He/she ensures that all equipment and facilities needed by workers to enable them work effectively are made available and are in good condition.
  • A foreman ensures that workers maintain a high level of quality of the work.
  • The foreman is expected to have experience/knowledge in quite a number of areas and showcases his/her experience/knowledge in the execution of these tasks.
  • Organizes meetings such as safety talks, daily meetings, etc.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • Must be able to work around concrete and various concrete mixtures, curing compounds, acids, chemicals, brick cleaning solutions, fuel vapors, dust, paints, varnishes, and other industrial chemicals, etc. without allergic reactions.
  • Must be able to work at great heights without fear.
  • Must be able to work in heat and cold weather.
  • The noise level in the work environment and job sites is usually loud.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Proven ability to build and lead high performing teams
  • 5+ years of relevant experience within commercial construction
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Must be able to work in hot or cold environment
  • Quality control experience
  • Safety experience
  • Scheduling experience

Licenses & Certifications:
Preferred

  • TWIC Card
  • Valid Driver's License
