Your Role
As an intern or thesis student at Numbat, you will play a crucial role in the development of a charging infrastructure solution based on a local DC network. Your work will contribute to expanding existing connection concepts and developing innovative solutions to improve the efficiency and flexibility of charging locations. Through your research and development, you will make a significant contribution to shaping the future of charging infrastructure and promoting sustainable mobility.

You will be based at one of our locations in Kempten, Munich, Hamburg, Aachen, or fully remote.

Your Tasks
- Understanding of existing connection concepts, particularly with DC variants, their advantages and disadvantages, and expansion to include additional options (including consideration of storage and PV systems)
- Research on legal, regulatory, and technical requirements for the construction and operation of DC networks in the relevant power range
- Development of an evaluation scheme considering economic (CAPEX, OPEX) and technical (line lengths, power) criteria for a comparative approach to AC-coupled solutions
- Theoretical modeling of a DC charging ecosystem
Your Profile
- Studies in the field of electrical engineering, energy engineering, industrial engineering, or a similar discipline, ideally with a focus on energy supply or renewable energies
