Job Title: Director of Outreach
Essential Functions:
As the Director of Outreach you'll work closely with the library director on organization advancement including fundraising, communications, and events, to create and maintain favorable interactions and engagement with internal and external patrons and related organizations. Develops partnerships with volunteers, professionals, advocacy groups and other governmental agencies to formulate strategies and implement programs and services.
Job Description:
Plans, coordinates, and participates in library programs.
Provides customer service, technical assistance and instruction, and answers questions regarding the use of the library, collections, and services (i.e. law text and treatises and databases such as Westlaw and Lexis).
Designs brochures and promotional materials to advance brand awareness, program awareness, and other marketing initiatives. Preference given to those with familiarity of programs such as Canva, Adobe Creative Studio, Buffer, email marketing platforms, and photo platforms.
Recruits volunteers and conducts outreach.
Maintains and updates law library website content and social media accounts.
Assist in organizing and supporting planned giving and annual giving campaigns.
Maintains records and files on press and public relations activities.
Drafts press releases, newsletters, website text and graphics, reports and correspondence. Excellent interpersonal skills with staff, vendors, and donors is a must.
Presents, organizes, and disseminates information concerning agency activities and operations, and coordinates mass mailings to patrons and related organizations.
Represents the library and builds partnerships with community groups.
Attends meetings and events to provide information and answer questions concerning agency programs, operations, and services.
Oversees fundraising efforts by writing grants, researching foundations, and implementing fundraising strategies.
Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Business or Public Administration or related discipline.
Three years of experience in media marketing or public relations and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
U.S. Citizen, 21 years of age or older.
Excellent communication skills
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work with minimal hands-on direction, to initiate, manage and maintain several projects simultaneously.
Physical Demands:
Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves sustained keyboard operations. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 35 pounds.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history
