As an industry leader in their field, my client unites several globally successful brands under its roof and has increased its market share consistently over the last 30 years.

Their success has led to the creation of an AI department that currently consists of more than 250 experts in areas like Data Science, Data Engineering and Cloud Engineering, solving problems around topics like smart manufacturing (IIoT), logistical optimisation and data integration.

Expanding their Engineering unit (currently about 25 people), they are looking for a

Software Engineer (m/f/d) , who is keen on translating an innovative idea into a functioning and established full-service platform solution.

Responsibilities

In this role you work closely with your colleagues on designing, prototyping, developing and implementing a new data platform and its features that will centralise all data services across the group.

The aim is to enable all departments alike – technical and non-technical – to fully self-service e.g.

the complete process of creating and integrating new data products and services with a unified tool stack and within one platform.

Tasks of the Cloud Platform Engineer include
Design and implementation of architecture that e.g. supports connections to multiple cloud services (e.g. Azure and GCP) and varying processing methods and speeds (batch and streaming)
Development of new applications where needed to add to the described tool box
Research, testing and introduction of new tech e.g. for the automated deployment of software
Close collaboration with other specialists like Data Scientists and Data Engineers to e.g. identify potentials for the development and integration of new AI products as well as the introduction of data security measures
Skills & Experience

At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in Software or Application Engineering or a similar field, e.g. developing data driven solutions within a modern environment
Profound expertise with Python and strong familiarity with the methods of software development
Good practical experience with cloud services (ideally Azure or GCP) as well as a deeper interest in cloud solutions in general
A plus would be professional experience with applications like Databricks, Confluent and/or Pulumi
Good communicational skills across all levels and areas
You enjoy working in an international and versatile team
Fluency in English; German is not required
