    Position Summary:

    Assist the Head Coach in the general leadership of the women's softball team, including coaching, scheduling, conditioning, practices and recruiting.


    Essential Functions:

    • Assist coaches with practices, work-outs, and with monitoring academic progress and class schedules.
    • Remain apprised of MIAA & NCAA rules and regulations.
    • Support the coaches in maintaining a healthy and fair work environment by promoting teamwork and collaboration.
    • Lead by example of being a team leader and motivator, and work to build positive and cooperative relationships with staff, encouraging them to work toward individual and departmental goals.
    • Schedule teams, make travel arrangements, ensure scholarships are in place, etc.
    • Coach specific softball techniques during practice, run practices and otherwise assist the Head Softball Coach with coaching responsibilities.
    • Scout for and recruit quality student-athletes.
    • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Experience playing or coaching softball
    • Demonstrated commitment to the academic success of student-athletes.
    • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets University standards.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to complete travel throughout the region during the softball season.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree
    • Experience coaching softball at the college level.
    • Ability to use and or learn computer software related to recruitment and statistics reporting.
