    Woodruff Arts Center employees play an integral role in creating and supporting great art and education initiatives at the nation's third largest arts center.

    Comprised of three Art Partners-Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and High Museum of Art-there's a role for everyone at The Woodruff.

    The Communications Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping the organization's narrative and advancing its mission through strategic communication initiatives.

    Their goal is to raise the visibility of the Orchestra in Atlanta, Georgia, and the broader classical music community.

    Reporting to the Director of Communications and Marketing, the Communications Manager is responsible for managing aspects of media relations and internal/external communications.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Develop and execute messaging and communications plans to achieve visibility for the ASO.
    Manage a robust and consistent media relations strategy to garner positive coverage with local, regional, and national media outlets.
    Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and pitches.
    Create content for all program books and manage production.
    Manage the creation and dissemination of newsletters, emails, and other communication materials to staff and stakeholders.
    Write patron-facing emails and letters.
    Assist with social media where appropriate, coordinating with the content team.
    Adhere to set budgets and process invoices as needed.
    Serve as an ASO representative at promotional events and concerts.

    Other duties as assigned.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor's degree in communications, English, marketing, business administration, music or a related field is preferred.
    Three or more years of experience in public relations and communications; experience in the arts and culture industry preferred.
    Knowledge of and/or passion for classical orchestra music.

    ABILITIES:
    Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to create compelling and engaging content.
    Demonstrated knowledge of media relations and storytelling to drive brand awareness.
    Focus on timely execution in a fast-paced environment with high accountability and an eye for detail and accuracy.
    Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to advance strategic objectives.

    Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners in the media and audience.

    Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and other graphics and presentation software.
    Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices within the social media sphere


    WORK SCHEDULE:
    Monday - Friday, 9am - 5 pm, with some evenings and weekends.

    Hybrid schedule:

    the Marketing and Communications team generally meets in the office on TUE/TH and works from home on the other days of the week.


    Starting Salary:
    $60,000
