- Performs general nursing to care to patients. Adjusts and/or administers prescribed medication and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and physician/ provider orders.
- Responds to incoming telephone calls and patient needs. Interpret patient's symptoms and communicates them to the provider. Assess the patient's needs to provide the best care and advice.
- Collaborates with providers and other nurses/ staff to devise individual care plans for patients
- Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections, etc.) and documents findings in the patient's medical record.
- Inspect the facility and equipment and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, etc.)
- Maintaining personal contact with patients and relatives, being sensitive to their needs for courtesy, dignity, and privacy and always ensuring a friendly environment.
- Storing and checking medication in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
- Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for professional practice and continued professional growth. Attends all in-services and meetings as appropriate.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintains a professional and positive attitude, appearance and relationship with patients and staff.
- Observe all clinic guidelines and policies.
Experience:
- 6 months in a similar or related healthcare position.
Education:
- Must be a license practical nurse (LPN) in the state of Kansas.
- Registered Nurse license (RN) in the state of Kansas is preferred.
- BLS is required.
Physical:
- Occasionally lifts or carries items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Requires full body range of motion.
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time (6+ hours).
- Vision and hearing within or corrected to normal range
