    About the School of Psychology at the Georgia Institute of Technology

    The School of Psychology is dedicated to advancing psychological science through cutting-edge research, innovative education, and impactful community engagement.     Job Summary



    The School of Psychology at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track Academic Professional faculty position, which is a Teaching Faculty and Academic Advisor position beginning August 1, 2024.

    The position is dedicated to the School of Psychology with a focus in Psychology and be able to teach psychology related courses at the undergraduate level. The position provides opportunities for program and professional development, as well as for promotion through the non-tenured faculty track.

    Responsibilities



    Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, providing high-quality classroom teaching with a teaching load of 6 courses per academic school year (Fall, Spring, and summer terms). Specific courses will include undergraduate research methods, undergraduate statistics, the second semester of introductory graduate statistics which focuses on the general linear model, and other courses as needed. An ability to teach a graduate SEM or Multilevel Modeling course would also be desirable. The aforementioned statistics courses include a teaching assistant and a laboratory instructor who will be managed by the instructor. Candidate is also responsible for advising, course development, and program assessment over the school's undergraduate program.

    This position vacancy is an open rank announcement. The final job offer will be dependent on candidate qualifications in alignment with non-tenure track academic faculty ranks as outlined in section 3.2.2 of the Georgia Tech Faculty Handbook ).

    * For all ranks, a PhD in Psychology or related field is required. *

    Additionally:

    Academic Professional:

  • Significant related experience or promotion from the rank of Associate Academic Professional (or equivalent)
  • Quality of performance and potential development must be recognized by peers.
  • Senior Academic Professional:

  • Evidence of superior performance in the chosen field
  • Recognition by peers (whether national, regional, or local)
  • Successful and measurable related experiences
  • Five years or more equivalent experience to an Academic Professional
  • Preferred Qualifications



  • PhD in psychology or a related discipline and experience with teaching undergraduate psychology-related coursework (area is open).
  • The minimum educational requirement for this position is a PhD in quantitative psychology or educational statistics and measurement, but applicants from other areas who have extensive quantitative expertise in the social sciences will be considered.
  • Previous teaching experience is required along with evidence of teaching success including student and peer teaching evaluations.
