- Design and develop MEP systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, lighting, plumbing, fire protection, and other related systems for building projects.
- Perform calculations, simulations, and analysis to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and sustainability of MEP systems.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and clients to coordinate MEP design and integration with architectural and structural elements.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to evaluate existing conditions, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams throughout the design, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in MEP engineering to enhance design quality and efficiency.
- Participate in meetings, presentations, and discussions with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to address project requirements and concerns.
- Review and evaluate contractor submittals, shop drawings, and MEP installation progress to verify compliance with design intent and specifications.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules, and contribute to business development efforts by identifying potential opportunities and client needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP engineering design and project management, preferably in a consulting environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant software tools for MEP design and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations related to MEP systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
