The Logistics Contractor will manage operational activities related to the coordination and execution of shipments and materials management for Halozyme materials.
This includes movement of materials across Halozyme's Contract Manufacturing/Warehouse sites and from Halozyme's sites to Halozyme's partners or customers, as well as the data management, reporting and transactional activities that support such material movements and other inventory management activities.
In addition, the Logistics Specialist will support the Supply Chain group in various projects and initiatives that support business needs and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
These may include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate shipments between sending and receiving sites (Halozyme CMOs/warehouses and/or partners) as well as the logístical carriers executing the shipment.
- Collect prepare and submit data required to request and schedule shipments
- Prepare and submit all shipping documents, including import/export documents, in collaboration with logístical carriers and customs brokers.
- Communicate to internal (Halozyme) and external parties regarding plans for and status of shipments, as well as any issues that may arise.
- Coordinate with Halozyme's thirdparty warehouses for daytoday activities related to materials management.
- Manage data, execute transactions (e.g., in the ERP system) and generate reports that reflect material movements, changes to inventory status and other related information.
- Draft work instructions, business process documents and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Develop spreadsheets and other tools to support inventory management, production/procurement planning and other Supply Chain functions.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support various business process development/improvement initiatives and other projects as identified
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in any combination of the following areas
- Internship or working experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Pharmaceutical supply chain management (logistics, materials management and/or supply/materials planning
- Previous experience in managing domestic and international logistics, preferably with a focus on coldchain pharmaceutical products
- Experience and proficiency with data analysis and reporting
- Demonstrated ability to produce effective written and visual materials
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated abilities to take initiative and contribute to projects and/or process improvement efforts
- Good problemsolving and critical thinking skills
- Proven ability to quickly learn new processes and business environments
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Software Knowledge:
Windows, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Knowledge of other software required:
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Works closely with other members of Supply Chain Operations, Manufacturing, QA Alliance Management, Finance and other functions within Halozyme
- Works with Halozyme's business partners to coordinate and execute deliveries
- Interacts with personnel at Halozyme's contract manufacturing organizations, thirdparty warehouses and logístical carriers
Physical Activities:
On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means.
Some walking and lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderateTRAVEL:
Travel is not currently expected for this position, but infrequent business travel may be required in the future (up to 5%)
