The Department of Experimental Surgery at the INSURE Institute - Institute for Translational Cardiac Surgery at the Clinic for Cardiac and Vascular Surgery in Richmond Hill is currently seeking a

Bioinformatician (m/f/d)

to join our team as soon as possible. Our department combines basic science research in the fields of cardiac developmental biology, cardiac regeneration, and molecular mapping with preclinical research.

Your responsibilities will include setting up and operating computational pipelines for the preparation and integration of data from high-throughput experiments, as well as conducting data analyses. You will also be responsible for maintaining the server infrastructure and software environment.

Your tasks
  • Setting up and benchmarking pipelines for preprocessing and analysis of DNA data sets (GWAS, WES, WGS), RNAseq, single-cell RNAseq, proteomics, and metabolomics data
  • Supporting the data information system (DIS) of the cardiovascular biobank (KaBi-DHM)
  • Managing research data
Your profile
  • Successfully completed university degree (Master's, Diploma [Univ.]) in bioinformatics, computer science, biology, or a related field
  • A PhD in this field is advantageous
  • Experience in preprocessing and analyzing high-throughput data
  • Proficiency in R, Python, Java
