Seasonal Laborer

Job Description/Description:

Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

Maintains the urban forest, including planting, removal, trimming and general care of trees and shrubs.
Mows Village property and maintains flowers beds.
Performs brush collection, prepares civic displays and assists with landscape improvements.
Operates a variety of light trucks and equipment in the repair, maintenance and construction of public works water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems, streets, and urban forest.
Inspects and maintains vehicles and equipment; reports malfunctions to supervisor.
Assists with the preparations and tear down/cleanup for events, festivals and special functions.
Ability to tolerate both inside and outside environmental conditions. Position is performed under fluctuating and extreme temperatures, with some exposure to noise.

Qualifications:

Must be 18 or older.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license. Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred.
Must be eligible for employment in the U.S. and pass a preemployment background check and medical and drug screening (including cannabis).

Salary:
$16.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on qualifications.

Hours:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Employment Duration: 6-9 months.
