About the Role:

The primary responsibility of the Buyer is to procure and source raw materials promptly while upholding stringent quality standards and ensuring cost competitiveness.


About You:

As a Buyer at MeriCal, you will have the opportunity to not only contribute to our success but also to enhance your own skills and expertise in a dynamic and supportive environment.

You are an assertive, outgoing, and task-oriented individual with a solid understanding of the supply chain.


In this role, you will:

  • Utilize the ERP system to review demand and issue purchase orders for required materials.
  • Drive cost savings through executing RFQs, identifying potential cost reduction areas, and staying informed about market trends.
  • Develop and nurture supplier relationships to ensure high quality, costeffectiveness, and timely delivery of raw materials.
  • Collaborate with the New Product Development team to support sourcing needs.
  • Work closely with R&D to assess alternative/secondary suppliers for supply chain continuity.
  • Address any quality issues with materials by partnering with Quality and Vendor teams.
  • Maintain data accuracy in ERP by updating purchase orders, lead times, safety stocks, and vendor information.
  • Ensure proper inventory levels are maintained and collaborate with Sales on discontinuations to avoid excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Communicate effectively with crossfunctional teams on project statuses and deadlines.

Qualifications to be a Buyer:


  • Three plus years' experience in pharmaceutical, nutritional supplement, or foodrelated industries with extensive knowledge of raw material sourcing and procurement.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to develop alternative solutions independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in organization and outside communication.
  • Undergraduate Degree.
  • Proficient in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Strong computer skills with experience in MRP, data entry, and spreadsheets.
