JOB TYPE:
Foster Care Caseworker


LOCATION:
Dover, Delaware


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Social Work or related field
  • Experience working with families in social services context
  • Valid driver's license with properly registered and insured vehicle
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Essential Functions:

1.
Maintain a caseload of children and families as assigned by the Program Coordinator

2.
Meet with each child according to contract standards (at least twice a month with one of those visits occurring within the resource parents' home if the child is in placement, or according to aftercare standards as applicable)

3.
Report immediately, as mandated by the Child Protective Services Law, all cases of suspected child abuse and/or neglect, followed by a written report within 48 hours

4.
Initiate permanency planning for a child and work toward permanency goals

5.
Ensure the timely scheduling and completion of all appointments designated in the child's ISP and/or necessary to ensure safety and achieve permanency

6.
Attend court hearings and service planning sessions

7.
Analyze client needs, develop and recommend referrals for interventions
