    Shifts scheduled as needed on Sundays 7:00 am - 3:30 pm and Saturdays 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm or 11:00 pm - 7:30 am. Work where every moment counts.

St. Vincent's Behavioral Health Center in Westport is a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility specializing in care for children, adolescents, and adults with mental health and dual diagnosis substance use disorders. St. Vincent's Medical Center is the first hospital in Fairfield County integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network and part of one of the largest providers of mental health services at various locations in Connecticut.

    Job Summary:

    Provides direct patient care to behavioral health patients following established facility policies and procedures.

    Responsibilities:

    • Completes initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments based on nursing practice standards.
    • Develops a nursing care plan aligned with the master treatment plan.
    • Participates in treatment team conferences to aid in goal planning and interventions for each patient.
    • Implements nursing care plans and conducts group therapy sessions.
    • Evaluates patient responses and revises care plans accordingly.
    • Collaborates with the treatment team to adjust goals and interventions based on patient status changes.
    • Performs comprehensive patient assessments and identifies individualized care needs.
    • Documents nursing care plans in collaboration with patients and families.
    • Provides direct patient care per physician's orders and protocols.
    • Evaluates changes in patient status and adjusts care plans.
    • Delegates care tasks as appropriate to maximize staff performance.
    • Demonstrates necessary knowledge and skills for behavioral health care and interdisciplinary teamwork.

    Qualifications:

    • Registered Nurse license from the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 2 months of hire.
    • Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
    • Preferably experience in an acute care psychiatric setting.
    • Evidence of leadership skills.
    • Ability to manage out-of-control patients following MOAB training.
