School Clinician, Special Education
Seaport Academy is a small, alternative school for young men in grades 8-12.

We serve students who have not achieved their educational goals in a traditional school setting and provide a unique program, where learning is experiential and filled with adventure.

This is a 10 month, school-based position reporting to the Clinical Director.

Seaport is seeking a full-time Mental Health Counselor or LCSW/LICSW who has clinical experience with adolescents in community, residential, or other supportive clinical settings.

Strong preference for clinicians well-versed in understanding and working with young people impacted by trauma (and multi-systemic oppression). Clinicians will hold individual caseloads, lead group counseling, run morning check-in groups, and run elective activities of interest. Individual and group supervision provided weekly.

AdditionalResponsibilities:

• Deliver support for academic classes, electives, and institutes based on the goals of students' IEPs
• Report on student progress and student grades each term in a timely fashion
• Participate in daily staff meetings and weekly counselor meetings
• Maintain a collaborative milieu
• Participate in Open House events (2 per year)
• Has a background in special education
• Is able to plan creative, challenging, and engaging curriculum
• Is creative, flexible and able to relate to challenging students
• Maintains high expectations for students
• Has the drive to plan and lead a variety of activities and field trips
• Is highly organized

Pay:
$55, $65,000.00 per year
