- Work with Technical Team to introduce new mold designs, tooling and processes.
- Develop scientifically based processes and generate documentation to ensure run consistency of quality and efficiency via established process specifications.
- Provide engineering feedback on new designs to insure process capability and review and testing of new materials. Participate in mold design reviews prior to mold build.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing for capability issues, technical improvements, and daily processing activities.
- May be involved with auxiliary equipment to support molding operation such as robots, pickers, closing machines, etc.
- Provide oversight and guidance to Molding Technicians and productions mechanics.
- Support injection molding process control and capability using scientific molding principles.
- Drive molding process improvements to include cycle time efficiencies, cavitation, scrap reduction, and establishment of optimal processing parameters.
- Provide technical support for new tooling qualifications and process capability studies.
• Support process improvement, reduction of downtime, cost reduction, and corrective action teams. - B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Plastics Engineering and 3+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of plastic injection molding process, machines, and resins
- Knowledge of automation, robots, and vision systems.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, scientific and technical journals and procedures
