    Diesel Shop Mechanic – Heavy-Duty Mechanic – Class 8 Truck Technician Full-Time / Springdale, AR

    Key Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities Include:

    • Perform repairs to heavy-duty trucks and trailers
    • Perform basic welding functions
    • Inform customer/manager of completion times, service expenses, and possible changes
    • Monitor the profit/loss of each job to maximize profitability while maintaining the highest standards of quality; minimize warranty claims and re-work
    • Submit work orders for invoicing
    • Maintain inventory and supplies
    • Prepare list of required replacement parts
    • Clean work area as required and maintain equipment, adhering to all environmental, health and safety standards

    Successful Diesel Mechanic Candidates Will Have:

    • Class 8 truck mechanic experience, to include:
      • transmission, suspension, brake, and clutch jobs
    • A basic set of hand tools, or willingness to purchase hand tools required for the job
    • Associate's degree or technical certificate in heavy-duty, diesel truck mechanics
    • Initiative to address challenges and seek solutions
    • Excellent communication skills (oral & written)
    • Customer service orientation
    • Ability to safely lift heavy parts and use shop machinery
