- Perform repairs to heavy-duty trucks and trailers
- Perform basic welding functions
- Inform customer/manager of completion times, service expenses, and possible changes
- Monitor the profit/loss of each job to maximize profitability while maintaining the highest standards of quality; minimize warranty claims and re-work
- Submit work orders for invoicing
- Maintain inventory and supplies
- Prepare list of required replacement parts
- Clean work area as required and maintain equipment, adhering to all environmental, health and safety standards
- Class 8 truck mechanic experience, to include:
- transmission, suspension, brake, and clutch jobs
- A basic set of hand tools, or willingness to purchase hand tools required for the job
- Associate's degree or technical certificate in heavy-duty, diesel truck mechanics
- Initiative to address challenges and seek solutions
- Excellent communication skills (oral & written)
- Customer service orientation
- Ability to safely lift heavy parts and use shop machinery
