Job Description:

Amcor is currently searching for individuals to join our Batavia production plant


SHIFTS AVAILABLE:

  • 3rd shift: Mon-Fri, 11pm7am
  • 12hr 43 straight nights
  • 12hr 43 straight days

STARTING PAY:
$24.28/hour - $26.02/hour with $0.50 night premium

1.5x pay on Sundays

WHAT SLITTER OPERATORS GET TO DO:
Set up and run slitters to efficiency, quality and waste specifications. Input data in MPR II system. Maintain visual workplace standards. Assist in roll packing, rewind and lead wrap areas. Duties also include but are not limited to;

  • Complete required paperwork including Visual Check sheets and Run Condition Sheets
  • Ensure a quality product is being produced
  • Ensure clean ups, changeovers, etc. are completed safely and efficiently as possible
  • Flag defects
  • Operate hoists in a safe and efficient manner
  • Use pallet jack in a safe and efficient manner
  • Actively participates in EHS and CI activities
  • Keep work area clean

WHAT EXTRUSION OPERATORS GET TO DO:

  • Operators will lead in all aspects of operation of extrusion lines (Blown Film or Coater lines) including changeovers, machine start-up, running and shutdown.
  • Support operations in becoming World Class in all aspects of the business, beginning with Safety.
  • Run all jobs in accordance with customer specification, manufacturing specification, and standard operating procedures.
  • Organize, record, and ensure proper storage of resin.
  • Adjust machine specifications, pressures, and equipment for each job.
  • Ensure all appropriate paperwork is filled out accurately and completely.
  • Work with and direct the extrusion assistant and other team mates to minimize job changeover and down time.
  • Train and direct the extrusion assistant to become efficient at all the required assistant duties defined in each level of the assistant training matrix on time.
  • While also knowing and understanding the role in product safety.
  • Comply with all 5S and WCM initiatives (Cross Training, moving to the work)
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 5060 lbs
  • Willing and able to stand and walk for an 8/12 hour shift
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting
  • Frequent use of wrist and hands
  • Frequent stepping up and down from platforms
