Position Summary Overview:


This position will focus on supporting the math development of a core group of at-risk 6th graders at LAUSD schools.

The tutor will work in collaboration with Brotherhood Crusade Staff and credentialed teachers to support the development of low performing 6th graders in mathematics.


Responsibilities:


  • Attend mandatory Literacy Program Training
  • Monitor student participation in digital mathematics program
  • Lead small group (5 students) direct instruction based on appropriate intervention model
  • Monitor student academic progress based on online assessments and resources
  • Monitor and analyze math progress reports
  • Provide site supervision and support to Brotherhood Crusade Staff
  • Track and record student attendance, behavior, and performance

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor degree required
  • Selfstarter, organized and detailoriented
  • Experience with teaching and/or managing K6 students
  • Ability to engage and motivate middle school students in underserved communities
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Ability to communicate openly and effectively with all staff
  • Solutions oriented thinker with an emphasis on organization and execution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of teaching mathematics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and basic computer functions
  • Bilingual speakers (Spanish) is a plus for this role
This is a part-time position for 10 hours per week.


Compensation:

$24.00 per hour


Working Schedule:
(10 Hours per week)
Mondays - Thursday 3:00-5:00pm, Friday, 2-Hour planning period


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid California Driver's License.
