Position Overview

Are you looking for a unique opportunity to leave your mark and directly impact the growth story of this organization? We are looking for individuals who are passionate about new business development, are entrepreneurial and who will immediately make an impact on the growth of BMS Re.

This role will be keenly focused on driving sales and new revenue growth.

This position reports to the Head of Origination and will play a crucial role in the strategic growth and business development of BMS Re across the United States.

This role will strategize and drive prospecting activities within a specified territory.

Partners closely and collaboratively with Broking and Solutions teams to identify opportunities and deliver the full capabilities of BMS Re to prospective clients.

This position requires a high amount of travel to prospect and client sites across the US.
BMS Re has had great success in growing its reinsurance business.

The firm will continue to increase market share growth by expanding our client offerings, expanding into new territories, and cultivating new prospects.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Drives new client relationships and new business growth within a specified territory/target market
  • Establish network of contacts with target accounts to ensure BMS Re service offerings are known and being considered for new business opportunities.
  • Professionally and succinctly present BMS capabilities and value proposition to prospects, partnering with other BMS teams to ensure all capabilities are accurately demonstrated.
  • Achieve revenue and activity targets set in conjunction with BMS overall revenue goals
  • Proactively build and maintain a wide network of relationships among internal Broking team, reinsurance underwriters, actuaries and other staff to promote collaboration and a solutionsbased approach for prospects.
  • Anticipate requests and proactively supply information to prospects; develop solutions that will help them meet their goals, and present relevant ideas to them proactively.
  • Serve as a BMS Re thought leader, actively engaging within specified territory with industry professionals to help drive the company's strategic vision and stay abreast of market trends.

Required Education, Experience and Skills:


  • Business Development/Sales Professional with 15+ years in (re)insurance, consulting or financial services industries preferred (title is commensurate with experience)
  • Demonstrated success in new business sales and revenue growth; Is comfortable and has proven experience calling on, establishing relationships with CEOs, CFOs and other Clevel officers
  • Highly collaborative personality with ability to maintain positive client relationships; flexible to meet the needs and demands of a fastpaced work environment
  • Ability to leverage professional networks to engage potential clients
  • Demonstrated communication skills (written, verbal, presentations)
  • Excellent business acumen, strategic thinker with the ability to see opportunity and read cues from clients and prospects regarding their needs
