- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements essential to solar project development and operations, including Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreements, Operations and Maintenance (O&M) agreements, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and tax equity documents.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project development teams, finance, and operations, to provide timely and pragmatic legal advice on project-related matters.
- Conduct legal due diligence and risk assessments for potential project acquisitions, identifying and addressing legal issues that may impact project viability or profitability.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in solar energy law to ensure compliance and inform strategic decision-making.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other advisors, overseeing their work on project-specific matters and ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Assist in the resolution of disputes and claims arising during project development, construction, and operation, working to achieve favorable outcomes while minimizing disruption to project timelines and budgets.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with a state bar
- 3+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on renewable energy transactions and project development, preferably in the solar industry.
- Proven track record of drafting, negotiating, and closing complex commercial agreements, including EPC agreements, O&M agreements, PPAs, and tax equity structures.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy project finance principles and familiarity with financing mechanisms commonly used in solar project development.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize competing demands, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
