    Summary:


    The Mental Health Therapist plays a crucial role by providing clinical mental health services, which involve patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and tailored therapy for individuals, families, couples, and groups.

    This position focuses on implementing interventions and programs for managing chronic, acute, and/or severe conditions, employing evidence-based psychotherapy techniques, lifestyle medicine, and psychoeducation.

    The Mental Health Therapist works closely with a diverse treatment team to offer comprehensive biopsychosocial care to Summa Health System patients.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Formal Education Required:
      • Master's Degree in Social Work or Related Field
      • Active Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), LPCC, Psychologist, or LMFT
    • Experience & Training Required:
      • Three (3) years of experience in outpatient therapy
      • Demonstrated proficiency in conducting diagnostic assessments and providing ongoing therapy to adult outpatients
      • Demonstrated skill in developing effective treatment plans, documenting services, and maintaining consistent communication with other providers
      • Experience with managed care reimbursement and care appropriateness concepts
    • Other Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:
      • Previous involvement in Health Psychology is desirable; if lacking, candidates must showcase an understanding of the psychiatric and psychological effects of chronic, acute, and/or severe health conditions
      • Ability to engage effectively with diverse patient populations from various ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, with a clear grasp of their requirements for respect and dignity
    • Level of Physical Demands:
      • Sedentary position: Involves occasionally exerting up to ten pounds of force and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
