    SENIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

    Quotient builds digital experiences that empower and inspire

    We're looking for a Senior Systems Administrator with a passion for problem solving. Through our work with America Makes, our team has been building 3D data repositories to support additive manufacturing (3D printing) efforts across the country.

    We are adding a Systems Administrator to a multidisciplinary team that's supporting a revolutionary 3D printing solution which lets users find and discover models from multiple sources through a single website. The website enables users to search models by varying criteria like material, dimensions, and associated keywords. While each of our developers bring their own set of experiences and expertise, this solution uses Drupal, Oracle DB, and Java in a DOD environment.

    The selected candidate:

    • Ensures the stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and communication links.
    • Analyzes and resolves end user software program and connectivity issues. Provides end user training. Provide recommendations on technology direction to align with business vision.
    • Will be required to provide both local and remote maintenance support to various operational systems deployed at more than one location.
    • Support includes general maintenance, upgrades, and new installs of servers and applications. Applies advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing applications, and ensuring fault tolerance.
    • Performs vulnerability management.
    • Highly privileged users who are responsible for the administrative functions of the system. Ensures that the system is available to its authorized users upon demand, and that it operates securely and efficiently.

    Primary responsibilities also include:

    • Set up (provision) accounts for authorized users.
    • Manage the security functions of the system.
    • Perform backups as required and verify that backups are successful.
    • Review system logs and notify the ISSM of any unusual system activities detected.
    • Ensure users do not perform actions that could degrade system security.
    • Remove accounts and privileges from the system for users who have left the organization, or whose privileges have been revoked due to disciplinary actions.
    • Disable inactive accounts.
    • Perform software installations as needed.
    • Configure and maintain Operating System (O/S)parameters.

    Minimum Experience:

    • Must have experience with Drupal, JBoss, Solr, and Shibboleth.
    • Seven (7) years of progressive experience in the field of Information Processing, six of which are specialized in numerous specialized Information Processing disciplines involving a range of hardware/software solutions, four of which are concentrated, hand-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software.

    In addition, each team member must meet these DOD requirements:

    • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent resident
    • Must have or have held a Secret Clearance
    • Have a certification from one of the DoD approved IA baseline certification vendors:
      • Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC)
      • Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA)
      • International Information Systems Security Certifications Consortium (ISC)2
      • EC-Council
      • Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA)
      • Cisco
