Position Summary:

A sales porter is someone who maintains the lot and is primarily responsible for moving and parking vehicles in the dealership parking lot to accommodate the needs of mechanics, sales representatives, car buyers, and other visitors.


Here is what you will be doing:

  • Porter's responsibilities also include driving off-site to do dealership tasks when necessary.
  • It is also necessary for these individuals to take detailed notes on vehicle conditions and movements.
  • Compare serial numbers of incoming cars against invoice
  • Inspect vehicles to detect damage and to verify the presence of accessories listed on the invoice, such as spare tires and radio and stereo equipment
  • Record the description of damages and list missing items on the delivery receipt
  • Assign stock control numbers to cards
  • Catalog and store keys
  • Deliver sold vehicles to the newvehicle preparation department
  • Other duties as assigned

Here is what you will need:

  • High School Diploma/GED is required
  • Successfully complete MVR, background check, and preemployment drug test.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Positive attitude and high energy and excellent communication and social skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend jobrelated instructions and information whether electronic or paperbased.
  • Be able to accommodate the physical requirements of the role: standing 68 hours per day and will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and a variety of other hazardous and nonhazardous materials. This role will spend most of the time outdoors and be exposed to the elements.
