As a Sputter Process Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and quality of sputtering processes to meet production goals and product specifications.
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the Sputter Process Engineer plays a crucial role in the development, optimization, and maintenance of sputtering processes within a manufacturing environment.
About the role - you will:Process Development:
Design and develop sputtering processes considering factors such as deposition rate and film thickness.
Process Optimization:
Continuously optimize sputtering processes to improve productivity, yield, and quality. This may involve parameter adjustments and equipment upgrades.
Quality Control:
Implement quality control measures to monitor and maintain the consistency and integrity of sputtered films. Conduct regular inspections and analyses to identify defects and implement corrective actions.
Data Analysis:
Collect and analyze process data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. Use statistical tools and techniques to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed documentation of sputtering processes, equipment configurations, and experimental results. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, production, and quality assurance, to support new product development, scale-up efforts, and process improvements.
Training and Support:
Provide training and technical support to operators and technicians involved in sputtering operations. Share knowledge and best practices to build team capabilities.
About you:
Degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or any related disciplines. Proven experience in sputtering process development and optimization, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of sputtering principles, thin film deposition techniques, and vacuum systems. Proficient in data analysis and statistical methods. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Your experience includes:
Familiarity with the sputtering process's equipment such as sputtering systems, vacuum chambers, and thin film metrology tools. Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory requirements applicable to sputtering processes.
