Job Description Software Developer**
Responsibilities:
  • Works under direct supervision and in a team environment
  • Must have the aptitude to learn new technical tools required for the role.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor when dealing with internal customers.
  • Follows documented software development standards and approaches.
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and configuring computers and software systems.
  • Develops solutions based upon a defined specification and test plan.
  • Develops software solutions that operate against relational databases including:
  • Relational / object mapping
  • Report development.
  • Participates in department code reviews.
  • Performs unit testing of their work.
  • Completes work based upon the project schedule.
  • Participates in team design meetings.
  • Assists in the response to inquiry and maintenance support requests.
  • Continuously trains, adheres, and learns from peers within the organization.
  • Knows or learns to use the tools required for the job assignment.
  • Evaluate, test, and document technology and solutions aligned with client business initiatives.
  • Participate in meetings.
  • Assist with development of proposal and design of solutions.
  • Rotational oncall to provide 24X7X365 support for IT and software escalations.
  • Assist with system software upgrades such as new SunGuide ATMS releases.
  • Test new releases and compatibility with OTM.
  • Investigate SunGuide issued and report through client tracking process.
  • Respond to requests for data.
  • Maintain OTM documentation including release updates.
  • Work with interoperating software providers such as FL511 and CV systems.

Qualifications Minimum**:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and two (2) year's experience with software development, working in an IT capacity, or other related areas or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience and knowledge in the following programming languages: Python, C#, Java, VBA or similar software
  • Experience with the Microsoft suite of software including Office and Power BI
  • Experience and knowledge of a relational database, such as MS SQL Server, MySQL or Oracle, and operating systems
  • Experience and knowledge with Operations Task Manager.

Preferred:


  • Experience with Florida DOT's SunGuide ATMS
