Description
Plans, organizes, and administers fitness programs including, but not limited to PantherFit group fitness classes, personal training, the FIU Lose it Weight Loss Program and fitness related special events for the Wellness & Recreation Center (WRC).
- Develops and coordinates fitness programs including group fitness classes, outreach events, certifications and orientations. Oversees the implementation of a comprehensive fitness program including fitness and nutrition assessments, educational workshops and new user orientations.
- Responsible for wellness and fitness offerings at the Biscayne Bay Campus (BBC), both inperson and virtual.
- Oversees Personal Training programs, Lose It program, client management, and education programming.
- Recruits, trains, supervises, and mentoring fitness staff to offer a variety of programs tailored to the specific needs of the campus population, including PantherFIT group fitness instructors and personal trainers.
- Evaluates student outcomes and customer service.
- Maintains statistical information on program participation and conducting regular program assessments.
- Participates on University committees and/or other departments to effectively promote Campus Recreation.
- Assists in major fitness and equipmentrelated purchase decisions for the Recreation Center.
- Maintains confidentiality of records in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Responsible for the management of the Better You Wellness App platform, which allows students to maximize wellness engagement via a technological medium.
- Works closely with the BBC WRC Facilities team to ensure top notch fitness spaces and equipment. Directly responsible for the BBC aerobics studio.
- Monitors Fitness program area budget for both campuses and develop strategic methods to meet revenue generation targets.
- Assists in developing and coordinating fitness programs including group fitness classes, outreach events, certifications and orientations. Assists in implementing and overseeing a comprehensive fitness program including fitness and nutrition assessments, educational workshops, and new user orientations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of experience in a related field; OR Master's degree and two (2) years of experience in a related field.
Desired Qualifications:
Previous experience working in Campus Recreation.
