The Ford Program in Human Development Studies and Solidarity, part of the Kellogg Institute for International Studies in the Keough School of Global Affairs, is looking to hire a
Research Associate to join a vibrant community of applied researchers with a strong record of publication and policy impact.


The Ford Program is dedicated to research, teaching,and service that increase the effectiveness of efforts to promote Integral Human Development, a holistic model of flourishing rooted in the dignity and full potential of the human person.

The Ford Program is currently seeking a Research Associate who will report directly to the Assistant Director of the Program and will collaborate with faculty, staff, and partners working on the research portfolio of the Program.

The Ford Program provides grants and organizational support to Notre Dame faculty members and students to conduct research with our field partners around the world.

The Research Associate will collaborate with faculty, staff, and partners working on the research portfolio of the Program.

The Research Associate's job responsibilities will be to:

  • Assisting in the management and administration of new strategic initiatives, such as the Collaborative for Econometrics and Integrated Development Studies (CEIDS) Network;
  • Supporting the annual CEID workshop, planning, logistics, and communications needs;
  • In partnership with the Department of Development, Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations, and Notre Dame Research, assisting in developing and implementing internal and external research grants and fundraising strategies that support the growth and development of Ford Program research activity;
  • Supporting the Ford Program in the implementation of annual benefactors' events such as the "Friends of the Ford Program" dinner;
  • Planning of seminars and research workshops along with supporting the administration and programmatic services of the Ford Program as needed;
  • Supporting communications needs in consultation with the Ford Program Assistant Director and the Kellogg Institute communications team. drafting of monthly newsletters and annuals reports.maintain a vibrant web, video, and social media presence that increases the translational potential of Ford Program research and communicates the distinctive nature of the reserach being pursued to internal and external audiences.

Please Note:
This is a three year, limited-term position with a high probability of extension.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • A completed 4year undergraduate degree (bachelors or foreign equivalent) in economics, statistics, applied mathematics, or related field with 1 to 2 years experience
  • A strong quantitative background
  • Strong writing skills (evidenced by a writing sample)
  • Independent problemsolving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and be highly organized
  • Ability to travel internationally

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience programming in Stata and R, SurveyCTO a plus
