Description
Job purpose:
Manage and guide the supply chain for Cream Co Meats, including purchasing, logistics, COGS, 3rd party manufacturing, inventory, and vendor development & onboarding. This role has oversight and management of the entire Cream Co. supply chain, manages the Product Team, and is the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure you and your team participate in all Company-wide supply chain deliverables. The Product Team will serve as the hub for all inventory related planning and conversation, taking diligent notes and keeping stakeholders abreast of inventory related transactions. The Product Team will carry information and deliverables between departments in a professional, detailed, transparent, and informative manner. The Product Team will coordinate inventory reconciliation with the Warehouse Team. The Product Team maintains company inbound and outbound calendars, balancing our inventory position and needs at all times.
TEAM LEADERSHIP
Recruit, hire, onboard, and mentor a strong Product Team.
Engage with and be a primary point of contact for all our perishable vendors .
Work with your team to maintain a seamless and fluid inventory position.
Work closely with teh DOO, COO, and CEO to shape company wide sourcing strategy, marketing strategy, and sales strategy .
Optimize company supply chain process and tactics: refine and perfect all stages of our supply chain; contracting, purchasing, further processing, inventory control, LTL & FTL shipping, value added processing etc.
Manage systems & tools that support a scalable and measurable process; ensure data consistency and quality.
Directly Manage Cream Co. Purchasing & Inventory Control Manager, Production Manager, and Logistics Manager. Be prepared to step in to cover all responsibilities if needed.
PURCHASING
Participate in the oversight and management of Cream Co.'s greater supply chain planning.
Specifically responsible for the planning and forecasting of Cream Co.'s global inventory needs with an emphasis on raw material and finished goods planning as it relates to Cream Co.'s internal and outsourced production.
Work with all stakeholders to bridge the gap between supply and demand.
Utilize Cream Co.'s ERP and WMS platforms to provide accurate and up-to-date forecasting and reporting to ensure delivery on-time and in-full across all verticals.
Provide information and deliverables between departments in a professional, detailed, transparent, and informative manner. Maintain a strong professional relationship with our key vendors.
PRODUCTION PLANNING
Directly Manage Cream Co. Production Planning and Scheduling, and be prepared to step in to cover all responsibilities if needed
Responsible for the organization of Cream Co.'s meat processing planning.
Emphasis will be placed on short and medium term planning of ongoing cut-to-order and cut-to-stock products.
Responsible for the Private Label production calendar and the production planning for all 3rd Party production partners.
Regularly review all raw material source levels, communicating between Sales, Product, and Production to select best-use raw materials for all processing.
INVENTORY CONTROL
Directly Manage Cream Co. Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager and be prepared to step in to cover all responsibilities if needed
Track all inventory, raw, processed, or other, and coordinate across departments to ensure inventory is properly accounted for and reconciled.
Review digital inventory and regularly schedule cycle counts of all inventory on hand together with the Warehouse Operations Team.
Minimize inventory spoilage by monitoring and flagging aging inventory for the Operations Team to move between the various locations and departments.
Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies with the Operations Team.
Work with the Operations Team to develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures
LTL & FTL LOGISTICS
Directly Manage Cream Co. Logistics Manager and be prepared to step in to cover all responsibilities if needed
Manage all aspects of Cream Co.'s LTL & FTL Logistics
Control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to Cream Co. internal and external destinations
Select vendors and negotiate rates and service levels and monitor performance
Ensure compliance with all regulations governing the transportation of goods
Utilize analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems, achieve higher performance, and optimize cost
INVENTORY ANALYSIS AND REPORTING
Perform regular sales & production data review to ensure all customer-related inventory peaks and valleys are identified and communicated to other inventory stakeholders
Lead all inventory and purchasing conversations regarding overall inventory position. Participate in inventory & purchasing meetings as needed, prepare the agendas, and post the meeting notes for review.
Review inventory movement both digitally & physically; monitor the compliance checkoffs for all inventory as needed, track inventory shelf life, and manage inventory transfer to and from the production department, freezer, and other locations as necessary.
Key metrics of this role are inventory availability for direct sales and production as needed to maintain 100% OTIF status, working within the confines of overall physical space limitations and inventory value.
Organize standing purchasing, production & sales inventory needs, track pars and changes over time, and make this information available to all parties as needed to facilitate just-in-time inventory purchasing and production
Continuously review and analyze inventory trends be the most knowledgeable voice on inventory at all times
Provide a high level of professionalism when working with internal and external business partners
SKU MANAGEMENT AND ANALYSIS
Perform quarterly SKU reviews with senior leadership to maintain our ideal SKU profile for each vertical
Assess and validate or flag new SKUs and requests internally, providing process evaluation and feedback
Participate in Product Launches, owning the Supply Chain and SKU management side of new product development.
Maintain accurate SKU information across all systems, enforcing standards and policies which support a flexible and organized product offering
Balance the needs of our high attribute vendors and products, customers seeking the best customer service experience, and a team focused on excellence and organization.

On-Time In Full (OTIF)
Inventory Position (Lbs., Value, & Value:Revenue)
Spoilage
Buildup & value of 'dead-end' SKUs
Re-work and re-processing of low inventory value SKUs
Inbound compliance with SOPs (GTIN 14 scannable, COA on hand, correct case metrics, accuracy of POs)
New Product Launch timelines and success/acceptance
New request turnaround time and internal process development
Skills & Specifications:
Love of numbers and talent for data processing
High level of skill with Excel, crafting informative tables and diagrams for weekly review.
Excellent note and record keeping skills, and able to organize this information into team repositories for daily and weekly review
Understanding of inventory accounting principals

Schedule
The initial Provisional Period schedule will be Monday - Friday, from 9 AM - 5:30 PM. This leadership role will require flexibility with the ability to cover Sundays, early mornings, and late evenings as required. Some quarterly domestic travel will be required.
