    The Diagnostic Specialist-MSSM is a professional individual who supports quality patient care, performs routine examinations, assists physicians and registered nurses with daily clinical activity and performs standard diagnostic procedures.


    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Plans and manages patient care according to each patient's needs.
    • Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition. Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
    • Provides routine care for patients.
    • Assists physicians and registered nurses.
    • Communicates with patients and their families.
    • Communicates with patients and their families.
    • Prepares specimens for lab courier.
    • Administers medications. Provides wound care. Prepares and administers injections.
    • Verifies that patient charts are updated promptly and accurately. Observes and records patients' conditions and reactions to medications and treatment.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    Education:
    Completion of a New York State-approved training program in licensed practical nursing.

    BLS certification


    Experience:
    1-2 years recent nursing experience

    The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.
