Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent

Job Summary:

Provide administrative support to the Assistant Superintendent in a manner that is professional, diplomatic, and complies with confidentiality requirements.


Position Information:


  • Full-Time, with benefits
  • 8 hours/day
  • Starting Salary $21.74 per hour

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Assist with grant writing, comprehensive planning processes, districtlevel committee planning, and district mailings for state assessments such as PSSA/Keystone Exams as requested.
  • Manage all aspects of district wide assessments (Keystones, PSSA, WIDA, Local Assessments, etc).
  • Coordinate with the Technology Department to manage the district's data warehouse and produce data reports for district leaders.
  • Assist with coordination and distribution of information related to the district's professional development program.
  • Configure and maintain the district's professional development management system.
  • Submit Act 48 hours for certificated staff to PDE through the professional development management system or directly to PERMS system, monitoring staff completion status in collaboration with district leaders.
  • Enter sessions into the learning management system.
  • Track AIS hours for district professional staff.
  • Coordinate student teacher placements requested by local universities and complete corresponding paperwork.
  • Participate as recording secretary for Policy, Personnel, and Legal Committee meetings, communicate with PSBA reps, and update district policies/admin regulations to reflect changes where applicable, submitting necessary documentation for inclusion on monthly board voting meetings.
  • Assist with the completion of the PA School Performance Data Verification Process (demographic, academic, and PVAAS Fast Facts confirmation)
  • Manage the electronic storage and manipulation of assigned K12 curriculum.

Qualifications:


  • Two years' experience as a secretary necessary, preferably in public education
  • High school diploma or equivalent necessary
  • Diploma from an accredited secretarial training program preferred
  • Strong technological skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
