Summary:

Responsibilities:


  • Assist physicians and nurses in the evaluation, treatment, and management of patients with chronic pain conditions.
  • Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and updating electronic medical records.
  • Escort patients to examination rooms and assist with procedures such as injections, nerve blocks, and other pain management interventions.
  • Provide patient education on pain management techniques, medication instructions, and home care procedures.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests, including blood draws, urine analysis, and specimen collection as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures.
  • Schedule patient appointments, coordinate referrals to specialists, and assist with insurance verification and billing inquiries.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones, greeting patients, and handling medical records requests.
  • Participate in team meetings, continuing education programs, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a medical setting, preferably in pain management or a related field.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Compassionate and empathetic demeanor with a commitment to providing patientcentered care.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, procedures, and treatment modalities in pain management.
  • You might be required to travel to other offices
  • Bilingual Spanish speakers are preferred as the majority of our patients speak Spanish but are not required.

Pay:
From $18.00 per hour
