Summary:
Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and nurses in the evaluation, treatment, and management of patients with chronic pain conditions.
- Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and updating electronic medical records.
- Escort patients to examination rooms and assist with procedures such as injections, nerve blocks, and other pain management interventions.
- Provide patient education on pain management techniques, medication instructions, and home care procedures.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including blood draws, urine analysis, and specimen collection as directed by healthcare providers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures.
- Schedule patient appointments, coordinate referrals to specialists, and assist with insurance verification and billing inquiries.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones, greeting patients, and handling medical records requests.
- Participate in team meetings, continuing education programs, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Previous experience working in a medical setting, preferably in pain management or a related field.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fastpaced environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor with a commitment to providing patientcentered care.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, procedures, and treatment modalities in pain management.
- You might be required to travel to other offices
- Bilingual Spanish speakers are preferred as the majority of our patients speak Spanish but are not required.
Pay:
From $18.00 per hour
